The security of your data is of the utmost importance to us, which is why we take every aspect of protecting your data seriously.
As of 25 May 2018, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, repealing Directive 95/46/EC (the General Data Protection Regulation), also known as the GDPR, has been in force. This means that any controller processing personal data must apply these requirements and provide transparent information about how the data is processed.
Given the need to comply with the GDPR, and the fact that we are committed to taking care of your personal data (which may include your name, company name, e-mail address, phone number, details about your commercial enquiry and others, depending on the purpose of the processing) held in our database, we inform you that this data is used solely for successfully carrying out the processes in our relationship with you (a few examples, without being limited to these: responding to quote requests, performing commercial contracts, maintaining relationships with clients and partners).
The website newsilva.ro uses cookies that are necessary for its proper operation, as well as statistical cookies that help us understand how the website is used. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not build user profiles for marketing purposes. The full list of cookies can be found below.
1. What is a “cookie”
An “Internet Cookie” (also known as a “browser cookie”, an “HTTP cookie” or simply a “cookie”) is a small file, made up of letters and numbers, that is stored on the computer, mobile terminal or other equipment of a user accessing the Internet. The cookie is installed at the request of a web server to a browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and is entirely “passive” (it contains no software programs, viruses or spyware and cannot access information on the user’s hard drive).
A cookie consists of two parts: its name and its content or value. Moreover, the lifetime of a cookie is limited; technically, only the server that sent the cookie can access it again when a user returns to the website associated with that web server.
Cookies play an important role in facilitating access to and delivery of the many services users enjoy on the Internet, such as:
- Personalising certain settings, such as: the language in which a website is viewed, remembering preferences for various sections of a website;

- Session cookies – these are stored temporarily in the web browser’s cookie folder so that it remembers them until the user leaves that website or closes the browser window.

2. What are the benefits of cookies?
Cookies are managed by web servers. The lifetime of a cookie can vary significantly, depending on the purpose for which it is placed. Some cookies are used exclusively for a single session (session cookies) and are no longer retained once the user has left the website, while some cookies are retained and reused each time the user returns to that website (“permanent cookies”). Nevertheless, cookies can be deleted by a user at any time through their browser settings.
In general, the role of cookies is to ensure a fast and easy interaction between users and websites. Cookies are also used so that users can easily resume their activities the next time they access a previously visited website. In practice, cookies tell the server which pages should be displayed to the user, without the user having to remember the pages they browsed or navigate the entire website from the beginning.
3. Why do we use cookies?
- To remember the language you have selected (Romanian or English) and display the website content in the corresponding language.
- To ensure the proper technical operation of the website and of the contact and quote request forms.
- To allow the display of the interactive map through which you can locate our office.
- To better understand how the website is used: which pages are visited, where visitors come from and how long they spend on the website.
- To improve the structure, content and performance of the website based on this statistical information.
We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track your behaviour on other websites for marketing purposes.
4. How are cookies used on this website?
Essential cookies (necessary)
These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to work correctly. Without them, certain features cannot be provided. They do not require the user’s consent.

- Purpose: personalises the display of the administration interface for logged-in users; set only for logged-in users, not for ordinary visitors.
Statistical cookies
Technical storage or access is used exclusively for statistical purposes. Information stored or retrieved solely for this purpose, without additional data from the internet service provider or a third party, cannot normally be used to identify you. Requires the user’s consent.

Cookies placed by third parties through the interactive map
On the pages that include a Google Maps map, Google may set its own cookies on its domains when the map loads. These are not set by us and we have no access to them.

- Purpose: contain a unique identifier that Google uses to remember the user’s preferences and to operate its services, including maps displayed on third-party websites.
Marketing cookies
The website does not use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not have Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel, Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity installed, and we do not transmit data to advertising platforms.
5. What type of information is stored and accessed through cookies
Cookies keep information in a small text file that allows a website to recognise a browser. The web server will recognise the browser until the cookie expires or is deleted. The cookie stores important information that improves the browsing experience on the Internet (for example: the user session ID, the selected language, the current time, etc.).
6. Why are cookies important for the Internet?
Cookies are central to the efficient functioning of the Internet, helping to generate a friendly browsing experience adapted to each user’s preferences and interests. Refusing or disabling cookies can make some websites impossible to use.
Examples of important uses of cookies (which do not require a user to log in through an account):
- Content and services tailored to the user’s preferences;
- Language preferences (for example, displaying the website content in the selected language);
- Retaining child protection filters regarding content on the Internet (family mode options, safe search functions);
- The proper functioning of forms and other interactive elements within a web page.
7. Security and privacy concerns
Cookies are NOT viruses! They use plain text formats. They are not made up of pieces of code, so they cannot be executed and cannot self-run. Consequently, they cannot duplicate or replicate themselves on other networks in order to run or replicate again. Because they cannot perform these functions, they cannot be considered viruses. Cookies can nevertheless be used for negative purposes. Many anti-spyware products are aware of this and constantly flag cookies for deletion as part of anti-virus/anti-spyware removal and scanning procedures.
In general, browsers have built-in privacy settings that provide different levels of cookie acceptance, validity periods and automatic deletion after the user has visited a given website.

Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager (container ID: GTM-N6448QTX) to centrally manage the analytics scripts on our website. Google Tag Manager itself does not store cookies containing personal data; it acts as a container for the other integrated services.

Google Fonts
The fonts displayed on the website are loaded from Google’s servers (Google Fonts). In this process, the visitor’s IP address is transmitted to Google so that the fonts can be delivered to the browser. 8. How can I disable cookies?
Disabling and refusing to receive cookies can make certain websites impractical or difficult to visit and use.
